Your breathing patterns are an often-overlooked but nonetheless a critical part of your daily life. Life comes from breath, and steady, deep, consistent breathing keeps your body healthy, your blood oxygenated, and your sleep undisturbed.
Dr. Mark Cruz has a deep understanding of the way your dental structures impact your breath and breathing patterns. Small problems in your mouth can have a big impact on your ability to breathe comfortably and effectively. If you’re experiencing sleep disturbances or breathing difficulties, Dr. Cruz can offer treatment to achieve optimal physiological airways and healthy breathing patterns in Dana Point, CA.
Dr. Cruz offers a wide range of techniques and procedures to help patients achieve optimal breathing patterns and maintain healthy, unrestricted airways. He has years of experience and deep knowledge about the interactivity of the structures in your mouth and how these can impact your airways. Dr. Cruz can diagnose any issues you may be having, offering treatment options that may improve your daily life and overall health.
In some cases, the solution is as easy as minor behavior modifications, such as quitting smoking, avoiding alcohol, and reducing the use of sedatives. These lifestyle changes can open airways and relax the tissues in your throat. Depending on the severity of your situation, CPAP machines may also be provided. These devices help open airways for patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Oral appliances are a less-invasive method of opening airways, and they are effective with many patients. Other patients may require surgical intervention to treat more complicated airway or breath-related issues.
