Q: What cosmetic services do you offer?
A: We offer a variety of cosmetic dentistry services based on accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. They include home bleaching, light / laser bleaching, veneers, and different ceramic systems to replace tooth structure.
Q: Dental fillings are no longer the dark spots we see in people's teeth- what types of fillings are available today?
A: A wide range of dental filling methods are available in dentistry today. These include gold, silver amalgam, composite, ceramic, and glass ionomer fillings. Each of these methods have their advantages and disadvantages, and are offered to patients depending on the individual's preferences. In my practice of dentistry, I make it a priority to let my patients understand the risks and benefits of all of these materials.
Q: Inlays and Onlays - what are they?
A: These are two types of restorations / fillings which are similar to other types of fillings, except that they are custom made in dental laboratories and require two visits before they are placed. These restorations / fillings are recommended when the tooth structure is not enough to support a filling, or is not damaged enough to require a crown. Inlays and Onlays can be made of porcelain, gold or tooth colored composite fillings. Inlays are similar to fillings, but the restoration lies within the cusps of the chewing surface of the tooth. The type of Inlays and Onlays used varies depending on the remaining tooth structure while taking cosmetics into consideration, as well.
